WASHINGTON – Following a stellar start to the 2025 spring season, the GW tennis team returns to the court this weekend for three matches in three days. The Revolutionaries are set to host Mount St. Mary's on Friday at 11:00 a.m., welcome DePaul on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. and travel to Navy on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. All home matches will be played at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center in DC.
Last Saturday, the Buff & Blue took care of business in the team's season opener, blanking George Mason, 7-0, for the first win of 2025. GW completed a clean sweep in all nine matches, the first time the Buff & Blue have done so since March 11, 2024. First-years Karen Verduzco and Vaida Matuseviciute picked up their first singles and doubles collegiate wins, while Alejandra Ramirez started her senior season on the right foot with two wins as well. The Revolutionaries defeated George Mason for the 21st-consecutive time, dating back to the 2007 season. GW has shut out the Patriots in 14 of those contests.
Mount St. Mary's will open its 2025 spring season on Friday against GW after posting a 3-11 season last year. The Mount tallied victories against Morgan State, UDC and Marist. DePaul enters the week having already competed in three matches this season. The Blue Demons are 1-2 thus far, with a win over UIC and losses to Notre Dame and Northwestern. DePaul will face Georgetown on Friday before squaring off with the Revolutionaries. Navy, GW's opponent on Sunday, enters the week 2-2 with wins against St. Bonaventure and Saint Francis in the team's first two matches. Since then Navy has suffered back-to-back 4-3 losses to VCU and Richmond. The Midshipmen will travel to Liberty this Saturday before hosting the GW Revs the following day.
