TOPOLEWSKI, SENS, STRATTON CAPTURE A-10 WEEKLY AWARDS
GW swimming & diving captured three of the A-10's four weekly awards this past week following a trio of standout performances from veteran Ava Topolewski, and first-years Natalie Sens and Shae Stratton in GW's tri-meet vs. Pitt and West Virginia. Each have now earned multiple weekly awards this season, as Topolewski captured her third A-10 Performer of the Week honor, while Sens and Stratton each brought home their second A-10 Rookie of the Week selections.
HISTORY AGAINST THE HOYAS
The Revolutionaries are going for their eighth-straight win over Georgetown this weekend, a streak that dates back to the 2016-17 season. The Revolutionaries hosted Georgetown last season for Senior Day at the Smith Center, when the GW took a sizable early lead and dominated the Hoyas wire-to-wire, winning 215-85 (women's) and 188-112 (men's).Â
ABOUT GEORGETOWN
Georgetown is competing for the first time in the new year, as their last competition was in late November when they took on the Bruno Invite, hosted by Brown. Georgetown competed well at the Bruno Invite, where its women's team captured second place and men's finished in fourth. The Hoyas are 5-0 in dual meets on the men's side with wins over American, Howard, Villanova, NJIT and Johns Hopkins, and 3-2 on the women's side with wins over Howard, American and Johns Hopkins, and losses to Villanova and UConn.
The Hoyas are coming off a successful 2023-24 season, in which their men's team repeated as Big East Champions for the third-consecutive season, while their women's team captured third place. Jack Januario and Nick Santiago have each returned for the Hoyas in 2024-25 after being named the Big East Men's Co-Most Outstanding Swimmer and Big East Men's Co-Most Outstanding Diver, respectively.Â
