Bohlke, Kapustka Earn Victory at Cantello Invitational

Annapolis, Md. - Following another strong performance at the Cantello Invitational, the George Washington men's and women's cross country teams each tallied a second place finish at the meet, with junior Michael Bohlke and senior Pierce Kapustka earning a first place finish in the 4.9 mile and 5k events, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The day opened with an open 5k event. For GW, Pierce Kapustka (16:15.85) and Jimmy Gildea (16:16.54) finished first and second in the men's category. On the women's list, first-year Hadley Mahoney claimed third (19:34.41), with Lola Dinneen (20:06.10), Claire Bohan (20:20.95) and Ashley Robinson (20:46.73) following closely behind.
In the women's 6k, Sarah Mitchell headlined the event for the GW Revs, finishing in sixth with a time of 22:11.60. First-year Amelia Ogawa followed closely behind Mitchell's finish, recording a 22:53.90 time in the event for eighth.
In the men's 4.9 mile, Bohlke claimed his victory with a time of 24:24.93. On Bohlke's heels were Jacob Heredia (25:06.37) and Austin Brotemarkle (25:07.26). Efforts from both the GW men and women led to earning a second-place finish for the Revolutionaries, finishing behind host Navy on the men's side and Georgetown on the women's.

The Revolutionaries will return to action on Friday, October 4 as they travel to Greenville, N.C. to compete in the Pirate Invite hosted by ECU.
