Bohlke, Heredia Earn All-Conference Honors, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Finish in Top Six at A-10 Championships

MECHANICSVILLE, Va.- The GW men's and women's cross country programs competed in the Atlantic 10 championships on Saturday morning, headlined by Michael Bohlke and Jacob Heredia's all-conference finishes. On the women's side, the Buff & Blue raced to a 6th place finish out of 15 teams, while for the men, the Revolutionaries reached an 4th place finish. HOW IT HAPPENED
Starting in the women's 6k, Sarah Mitchell led the way, tallying a 16th place finish with a time of 21:13.7. Following behind Mitchell were Olivia Syftestad, Megan Churchill, Amelia Ogawa, Una Boylan, Hadley Mahoney and Julia Shanes, respectively. Six of the GW women earned a top 50 finish in the field of 136 to earn the sixth place team finish.
Michael Bohlke led the way in the men's 8k, cruising to an eighth place overall finish with a time of 24:13.1, a new personal best for Bohlke. Following Bohlke was Jacob Heredia, who earned a 12th place finish with a time of 24:23.0. With the two top-15 finishes, both Bohlke and Heredia earned All-Conference honors for the 2024 campaign. Following Heredia, the rest of the GW men finished as follows: Austin Brotemarkle, Brayden Bayek, Charles Mbuthia, Colin Funk and Jimmy Gildea. With five runners finishing in the top 50 of the field of 137, the men earned a fourth place finish in the field of the 15 A-10 schools.
