Cross Country Primed for Pirate Invite

WASHINGTON- After a few weeks of preparation, the GW men's and women's cross country teams will return to action this Friday as they travel to Greenville, N.C., to compete in the Pirate Invite hosted by ECU. On Friday morning, the men will be tested in an 8k race scheduled for 9 a.m., with the women following closely behind in a 6k course at 9:45 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT

On September 7, GW competed in the Cantello Invitational hosted by Navy. On the men's side, junior Michael Bohlke earned a first-place finish in the men's 4.9 mile, while senior Pierce Kapustka earned victory in the 5k open race. Both the men's and women's teams earned a second-place finish at the meet, finishing only behind host Navy for the men and Georgetown for the women.

ON THE COMPETITION

The Revolutionaries will be tested by 23 opponents at Friday's invite. Competitors of note include DMV foe American and four other A-10 members: Davidson, George Mason, Richmond and VCU. The full list of attendees is listed below:
