Leesburg, Va. - George Washington cross country kicked off its 2024 season in dominating fashion, with the women's team claiming victory at the BIG EAST Preview. Headlining the women's squad was Sarah Mitchell, who posted a first-place finish in 17:29 in the 5k. In the 6k, Michael Bohlke and Jacob Heredia posted times of 18:30 and 18:31 for the men to claim first and second individually against Georgetown.

NOTEWORTHY

·     The women's win marks the third-consecutive season opener in which the GW women have claimed a team victory.
·      Five women and three men made their debut for the Buff & Blue.
·      Two GW runners placed in the top 10 in the men's 6K (Bohlke and Heredia).
·      The Buff & Blue claimed seven of the top 10 finishers in the women's 5k.
·      Mitchell's performance in the 5k marks a new personal record and marks the 4^th fastest time in school history.
