GW rowing is set to compete in the Atlantic 10 Championship Saturday on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, New Jersey, looking to make it back-to-back conference championships after breaking through with its first-ever team A-10 title in 2023.
CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY: After three straight second-place finishes at the event in 2022, 2021 and 2019, GW broke through in resounding fashion last year in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The Championship came down to a duel between GW and then-defending champion Rhode Island in the Varsity 8. After GW's Second Varsity 8 won its Grande Final for the second-consecutive year, the stage was set for the battle between GW and the Rams in the Varsity 8, and the Buff and Blue won by open water to cruise into the NCAA Championship.
GW also placed in the top three in the 3V8 and in the Varsity 4, and was deservedly represented well on the All-Conference teams, with returnees Ezi Emenike and Alexa Nealy looking again for First Team honors, while Anna Golbus will also be in the V8 boat after earning a place on the All A-10 Second Team in 2023.
Racing in New Jersey begins at 8 a.m. with the full slate of the day's action listed here. Both sets of racing will be live-streamed on ESPN+ with the Prelims available here at 8 a.m. and the Finals here at 11 a.m.
Complete coverage of the Atlantic 10 Rowing Championship is on the conference's championship page. The winner of Saturday's Championship moves on to row in the NCAA Championship, May 31 - June 2, in Bethel, OH.Â
