Tennis Battles Richmond in A-10 Championship First Round

ORLANDO, Fla. – After earning the No. 9 seed in the 2024 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship, the George Washington tennis team battles Richmond on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in opening round action. The event is hosted at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
GW enters the postseason 6-14 overall and 4-5 in A-10 matches after concluding the regular season winners in three of its final five matches. GW defeated Georgetown, Saint Joseph's and Rhode Island in that span, while dropping contests with UMass and Richmond. PRIOR MEETING WITH RICHMOND
GW concluded the regular season in Philadelphia, playing three A-10 matches in three days. After earning wins over Saint Joseph's and Rhode Island, GW fell to Richmond, 4-1. On April 14 in the 4-1 defeat, GW's lone point came from Stella Wiesemann in No. 1 singles. Weisemann defeated Andrea Compodonico 2-0 (6-4, 6-4) for the victory. GW also held advantages in two unfinished matches, leading in No. 1 doubles and No. 3 singles.
