Gymnastics Travels to The Show Place Arena for Towson Invite

WASHINGTON – The GW gymnastics team will visit Upper Marlboro, Md., on Friday, Feb. 2 to face off against Penn, Towson and William & Mary for the Towson Invite at The Show Place Arena at 6 p.m.
CHELLI CALLOWAY INVITATIONAL RECAP
GW gymnastics scored a 194.400 at the Chelli Calloway Invitational on Friday as part of a third-place finish behind UNH, who scored a 194.475. Host Towson came in first with a score of 195.475, while Cornell finished in fourth with a score of 192.825.
GW scored a 47.100 on bars, a 48.625 on beam, 49.225 on floor and a 49.300 on vault.
Kendall Whitman placed first overall in the all-around with a score of 39.200. Anneliese Silverman took first place on bars with a score of 9.775. First-year Brooke Izzo placed first out of all performers on beam with a career-high score of 9.850. Whitman and Kasey Burke paced the floor rotation and tied for second overall with scores of 9.900. Sarah Zois placed first on vault with a score of 9.925.
A LOOK AT W&M AND PENN
W&M placed second with a score of 190.050 in a dual meet at Clemson on Friday, Jan. 12.
Penn comes off a first-place finish over Yale on Sunday, Jan. 28, with a score of 195.550, its highest team score of the season.
