WASHINGTON-Â Salem Yohannes and Taylor Treahy have been selected for A-10 All-Conference recognition, the conference office announced Friday morning. Yohannes has been selected for First Team All-Conference and All-Academic Team, while Treahy has earned the nod on the All-Rookie Team.Â
Â
These are the first All-Conference honors GW Volleyball has collected since MC Daubendiek and Liv Womble earned slots on the Second All-Conference Team in 2022; Yohannes is the first GW Rev to earn a spot on the First Team since Skylar Lott in 2019, and Treahy is the first to be selected on the All-Rookie team since Kelsey Clark's rookie campaign in 2015.Â
Â
Yohannes has had an exceptional senior campaign, in which she opened the fall earning the first A-10 player of the week honors. Since then, Yohannes has led the team in kills with 341, swinging .247 at the net over the course of the season. The standout outside hitter registered a season-high 19 kills at Eastern Michigan on Sept. 6, while hitting at or above .500 three times this season. A four-year veteran of the Buff & Blue, Yohannes surpassed the 500 kill and dig milestone in the 2023 season as a six-rotation starter for GW.
Â
As the honor suggests, Treahy has had a breakout rookie campaign, sitting second on the team in kills with 276. The first-year has hit .216 throughout 2024, while also picking up 151 digs and 29 service aces as a six-rotation player and consistent starter for the Revolutionaries.Â
Â
Yohannes and Treahy will lead the program to the A-10 tournament quarterfinals this afternoon in Dayton, Ohio, as the Revolutionaries will take on the Davidson Wildcats at 1 p.m.Â
