WASHINGTON – Following a stellar opening week to her collegiate career, standout guard Gabby Reynolds has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week. Reynolds becomes the first GW Rev to earn the honor since January of 2023.
In her first collegiate game, 2023-24 Michigan Miss Basketball Award winner Gabby Reynolds didn't disappoint. Reynolds orchestrated GW's offense like a seasoned veteran, tallying 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the field while also dishing out three assists and grabbing two rebounds. Reynolds played 32 minutes for the Revolutionaries in the 78-66 victory over Delaware, scoring GW's first points of the season on a three-pointer from the right wing.
Following the season-opener, Reynolds put up another stellar game against Howard on Friday night. She poured in a game-high 22 points, shooting 7-for-15 from the field and 3-for-7 from deep. Reynolds also pulled down eight boards in her 37 minutes of action. Through two games thus far, Reynolds is averaging 19.5 points, top among first-years in the Atlantic 10 and sixth overall. She's also averaging 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest, making an early claim as one of the top rookies in the conference.
Reynolds and the Revolutionaries continue the 2024-25 season tonight against VU-Lynchburg. Tip-off against the Dragons is set for 6:00 p.m. inside the Smith Center. Live coverage will also be available on ESPN+.
