Tennis Concludes Play at River City Open

RICHMOND, Va. – The George Washington tennis team concluded play at the River City Open with Patricia Ungure-Rogozoveca and Madison Lee leading the way in singles action. Both finished with a 2-1 record at the event to lead the Revolutionaries.
In a round-robin style event, Karen Verduzco, Vaida Matuseviciute and Alejandra Ramirez also tallied a victory in singles play. All three earned wins over Hampton, while Lee and Ungure-Rogozoveca's wins were against Georgetown and Hampton.
In doubles action, Lee tallied two more victories, one with Ungure-Rogozoveca and the second with Victoria Sasinka. Lee/Ungure-Rogozoveca defeated Georgetown, while Lee/Sasinka tallied a win over Richmond. GW's other doubles victory came from Ramirez/Verduzco against Hampton.
GW returns to the courts from October 17-21 to compete in the ITA Regional Championships hosted in Charlottesville, Va. More info, as well as start times, will be announced at a later date.
