Taylor Treahy Named A-10 Volleyball Rookie of the Week

WASHINGTON- First-year Taylor Treahy has been named the Atlantic 10 Volleyball Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon. This is the first conference honor the Santa Clarita, Calif. native has earned during her time in the Buff & Blue.

In her inaugural campaign with the Revolutionaries, Treahy has appeared in 56 sets and tallied 160 kills.

Treahy averaged 3.43 kills per set and 4.21 points per set for the Revolutionaries as GW swept Fordham in the second week of A-10 competition. Across the entire weekend, Treahy swung behind a .330 hitting percentage and tallied 24 kills across two matches. Friday marked a double-double for Treahy, the first of her career, in which she tallied 11 kills and 13 digs. On Saturday, the first-year swung .440 to record 13 kills and registered three service aces, paving the way for the 3-0 victory and series win over Fordham.

The Revolutionaries will return to action tomorrow as they travel to Fairfax, Va. to face George Mason in the Revolutionary Rivalry. First serve is set for 6 p.m. and the match will air on ESPN+.
