WASHINGTON – Following two first-place finishes last weekend at the Blue & Gold Invite, the George Washington tennis team returns to action at the River City Tennis Open, hosted by the University of Richmond. GW will send all seven student-athletes on the roster for singles action and will also form three teams for doubles play.
The tournament, which will be held at the Westhampton Tennis Complex, features one main bracket for both singles and doubles. The Revolutionaries will navigate a field of 26 players in singles and 12 teams in doubles as they vie for the championship.
In singles, Madison Lee, Solange Skeene and Alejandra Ramirez will begin play on Friday at 12:00 p.m. Vaida Matuseviciute, Victoria Sasinka, Karen Verduzco and Patricia Rogozoveca will all get started at 12:30 p.m. For doubles, the teams of Lee/Rogozoveca, Verduzco/Skeene and Sasinka/Matuseviciute will each start play on Friday afternoon, with times still TBA.
GW fans can get in the game by supporting NIL opportunities for Buff & Blue student-athletes through contributions to the Friends of George Collective. Fans can also directly support through donations to the Buff & Blue Fund.
