Gymnastics Starts 2024 Home Stint with Lindsey Ferris Invitational

GW set for the first of four home meets this season
WASHINGTON - The George Washington gymnastics team will begin its 2024 home slate on Sunday at 1 p.m., when it welcomes Penn, Cornell, Yale and Temple to the Charles E. Smith Center for the annual Lindsey Ferris Invitational. Live coverage of the meet will be available on ESPN+.
ABOUT LINDSEY FERRIS
Lindsey Ferris was a four-year performer on the gymnastics team and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in communication in 2001 before serving as a Presidential Administrative Fellow (PAF) while earning her master's degree in forensic science in 2003. Following graduation, she achieved great success by becoming a Special Agent for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations before her untimely passing.
IN THE COMMUNITY
As in previous years, Cards for Hospitalized Kids will have a station set up at each home meet where fans can create and decorate cards for patients in hospitals across the country. Materials and a box for distribution will be set up outside the box office. Follow Cards For Hospitalized Kids on social media to learn more about the organization.
FLORIDA RECAP
GW gymnastics scored a 194.550 at Florida on Friday as part of a second-place finish behind the host Florida, who scored a 197.100. Fisk placed third with a score of 189.950 followed by newcomers Talladega with a score of 187.750.
GW scored a 48.950 on vault, a 47.925 on bars, 48.775 on beam and a 48.500 on floor.

The George Washington gymnastics team will travel to Battle Creek to face off against Western Michigan and Illinois State on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m.
