Lacrosse Concludes Season in A-10 Quarterfinals

GW finishes year 6-12 overall
RICHMOND, Va. – GW lacrosse concluded its season on Thursday with a 15-5 loss to Davidson in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals. The Buff & Blue finish the year 6-12 overall and 5-5 in Atlantic 10 play.
GW began the scoring at Cary Street Field, going ahead 2-0 behind goals from Katelyn Walker and Amber Germer. Davidson quickly responded, tallying four-straight to move ahead of the Buff & Blue. Everly Kessler scored for GW, but another marker from the Wildcats helped the No. 4 seed hold a 5-3 lead after one.
After nearly 13 minutes of scoreless play in the second frame, Kessler scored again to put GW within one. Davidson tacked on two late goals to close out the half, still leading 7-4.
Held to just one goal in the third frame, GW allowed Davidson to gain a 12-5 lead behind a five-goal third quarter from the Wildcats. The offensive success continued for Davidson in the final 15 minutes, this time with a three-goal quarter. GW couldn't find the back of the net in the final frame, falling to the Wildcats in Colleen McCaffrey's first postseason berth as head coach.

- Kerry McKeever led GW's offense with two goals. The two goals put McKeever in sole possession of second all-time in program history with 48 goals in a single season.
