Ray, Moran Earn All-Conference Recognition

Ray selected to Atlantic 10 Second Team and All-Rookie Team
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Stella Ray and Whitney Moran of GW lacrosse have earned Atlantic 10 honors, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Ray was selected to the A-10's Second Team and the All-Rookie team after finishing the regular season fourth in the NCAA in ground balls per game, totaling 59 in her first season with the Buff & Blue. Ray's conference-leading stat is good enough for first all-time in a single season in George Washington program history, besting Erin Berry's program mark of 55, a record held since 2003. Ray is also fourth in the A-10 in caused turnovers per game, averaging 1.76/game behind 30 on the season. In addition, the first-year defender finished seventh in the conference with 58 draw controls, fourth in GW program history.
Moran, a graduate student pursuing her Master's in Publishing, earned a spot on the conference's All-Academic Team after carrying a 4.0 GPA. Moran made an immediate impact for GW's offense, closing the regular season second on the team with 38 goals.
