GW to play St. Bonaventure on Thursday at 9 a.m.
WASHINGTON – No. 5 GW women's tennis will start its run at an Atlantic 10 Championship on Thursday against No. 12 St. Bonaventure. First serve is set for 9 a.m. at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

GW split its final pair of matches over the weekend, highlighted by a commanding 6-1 victory over Saint Joseph's on Senior Day. The Buff & Blue swept the doubles matches and won in the top-five singles matches to earn the win. Gabriela Giraldo, Alejandra Ramirez and Lara McNaughten each won their respective matches in straight sets. Stella Wiesemann and Sarah Bodewes rallied after dropping the first set to best their opponents.

A win on Thursday could set up a GW and Saint Joseph's rematch if the 13th-seeded Hawks upset No. 4 Richmond on Thursday. GW was selected as the fifth overall seed after posting an 8-10-1 overall record and a 5-4 mark in conference play this season and will face the Bonnies for the first time this season. GW equaled its conference wins from last season, which saw the 2022 team reach the A-10 semifinals as the No. 7 seed.
