
Adams, Bishop and Edwards Honored in A-10 Postseason Awards

Trio combines for six accolades including a pair of individual honors
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - After the best regular season for GW men's basketball in six years, George Washington's three-headed backcourt of Brendan Adams, James Bishop IV and Maximus Edwards were honored by the Atlantic 10 in the league's postseason awards.
Adams earned a trio of honors, including being named the A-10's Chris Daniels Most Improved Player. The Baltimore native was also named to the All-Conference Third Team and All-Academic team. Bishop was selected to All-Conference First Team, GW's first such honoree since 2006. Edwards garnered Rookie of the Year accolades and a spot on the All-Rookie Team.
Brendan Adams

Brendan Adams
A-10 Most Improved Player // Third Team All-Conference // All-Academic
Adams' phenomenal final collegiate regular season culminated in the Most Improved Player award. He is the third Colonial to earn the honor, joining Kevin Larsen (2014) and Pops Mensah-Bonsu (2004).
Adams saw an increase of over nine points per game from last season and improved his overall shooting percentage by 10 points and 3-point percentage by 12 points. For the season, the graduate student was fifth in the A-10 with 17.5 ppg and seventh in field goal percentage at 48%.
Adams was also included on the All-Conference Third Team and the All-Academic team. In the classroom, he holds a 3.65 GPA while pursuing his Masters of Business Administration.
James Bishop IV

James Bishop IV
First Team All-Conference
The Atlantic 10 scoring champion, Bishop becomes GW's first All-Conference First Team selection since Pops Mensah-Bonsu and J.R. Pinnock in 2006. Bishop, who was a second team honoree last year, is the first multi-time All-Conference recipient for the Buff & Blue since Tyler Cavanaugh in 2016 and 2017.
Bishop became the first Colonial to lead the A-10 in scoring since SirValiant Brown in 1999-00. His 21.5 ppg ranks 10th nationally while his 666 points are the fourth-most in a single season in program history. He also added 5.1 apg, which was third best in the A-10.
Bishop became the first Colonial ever with 650+ points and 150+ assists in the same season. He currently is 12th on GW's all-time scoring list with 1,493 points and has posted the fourth-most points by a Colonial in their first three seasons.
Maximus Edwards

Maximus Edwards

Edwards becomes the sixth Colonial in program history to be named Rookie of the Year, but the first since SirValiant Brown in 2000. He's also the third member of the Buff & Blue to earn a spot on the All-Rookie team in the last four seasons.
After transferring over from Kansas State, Edwards was a consistent producer for GW, playing the fourth-most minutes for a freshman in the country this year. He led all A-10 rookies in minutes played and rebounding (6.6 rpg) while also ranking among the league's top freshmen in scoring (2nd), steals (4th) and assists (6th).
He increased his production against conference foes to 11.2 ppg and 7.3 rpg with 11 double-digit performances, including two double-doubles. He earned five A-10 Rookie of the Week awards in the process, the most since Brown's six in 2000.
