
Chambliss, Whitman Head to Denver Regional

WASHINGTON – After being selected as individual qualifiers for this year's NCAA Gymnastics Regionals, Deja Chambliss and Kendall Whitman are set to compete at the University of Denver on Friday at 4 p.m. ET, with live coverage available on ESPN+.Â
FORMAT
Chambliss will rotate with the University of Nebraska, starting on vault, followed by bars, beam and floor. Whitman will rotate with Oregon State, competing on floor in the Beavers' first rotation.Â
CHAMBLISS' CAREERÂ
Friday's regional will be Chambliss' fourth career appearance on the big stage and third straight individual selection. The Chesterfield, Va., native competed in the all-around at last year's Raleigh Regional and competed on vault at the 2021 Salt Lake City Regional. Chambliss was a team qualifier as a first-year in 2019. Chambliss' 39.345 NQS in the all-around qualified her for this year's competition.Â
Chambliss was named co-champion on vault and floor with a pair of 9.900s in this year's EAGL Championship. Chambliss led GW with three EAGL First Team honors (vault, floor, all-around) for the second straight year and picked up Second Team recognition on beam. Chambliss finished first in EAGL on vault with a 9.890 NQS. Additionally, Chambliss was named the league's Senior Gymnast of the Year.Â
THE WHITMAN WAYÂ Â
Whitman qualified as an individual on floor last year and will compete in the event on Friday after finishing third in EAGL with a 9.915 NQS. Whitman earned All-EAGL First Team honors on floor, was named EAGL Specialist of the Week twice throughout the regular season, posted scores of 9.900 or better in nine floor routines throughout the year and was crowned floor champion in four meets this season.Â
