Grad transfer socked four-extra base hits in four games last week
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -Â GW baseball graduate student Michael Kohn was named the A-10 Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Kohn, in his first season with the Buff & Blue after grad transferring from Quinnipiac, slashed .538/ .647 / 1.154 in four games for GW. He accumulated seven hits, including two doubles and two homers, four runs and seven RBI.
The Rockville, Md., native started the week by going a perfect 3-for-3 with a homer, two runs scored and two RBI vs. UMES on Wednesday. Then in the series opener vs. Fairfield, Kohn cranked his second homer in as many games as part of a 2-for-4 day at the dish with three RBI. Kohn added a double in each game of Sunday's doubleheader, driving in two in the series finale.Â
For the season, Kohn is hitting .393 / .500 / .679 through eight games with the two long balls and seven RBI.
