Indoor Track Breaks Another School Record at VMI Winter Relays

First-year Marcella Mancini sets new top time in the women’s 300M
LEXINGTON, Va. – First-year Marcella Mancini put together an electric performance in the women's 300M, capturing GW women's indoor track's second school record of the 2023 campaign on Friday at the VMI Winter Relays.
Mancini, who had never raced collegiately in the 300M before Friday, posted a time of 43.16 to eclipse the previous mark by nearly three seconds. In addition to Mancini, fellow first-years Alexia Massoud and Emma Benzinger both made their event debuts and finished in the top 10.
GW also took home a first-place finish in the women's 4x800m relay on Friday, with the team of Yukino Parle, Lexi Seifert, Izzy Doran and Julia Potter crossing the finish line in a time of 9:23.06.
In total, GW had six different runners make their event debuts across four events and the team finished with seven top-10 finishes. Complete results can be found below:
