Women’s Cross Country Concludes 2023 Season at NCAA Regionals

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Led by standout sophomore Sarah Mitchell, the George Washington University women's cross country team concluded the 2023 season at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday afternoon. The Revolutionaries finished 11th out of 27 competing teams.

- GW finished with a team score of 343 to tally 11th out of 27 schools.
- Georgetown claimed the team crown with a combined score of 48, wining the event for the second-consecutive season.
- Villanova's Sadie Sigfstead won first as an individual with a 6K time of 19:35.5.
- Mitchell paced the Revolutionaries with a PR time of 20:51.1. The time is the sixth-fastest in program history and landed her a 32nd-place finish as an individual.
- Behind Mitchell was first-year Julia Shanes who notched a PR time of 21:16.1. Shanes finished 57th as an individual and her time is the 10th-quickest in school history.
- Sophomore Una Boylan finished 75th with a PR time of 21:30.8, while first-year Lola Dinneen recorded a PR time of 21:36.5 for 82nd.
- Junior Olivia Syftestad tallied 103rd with a mark of 21:56.7, while senior Catherine Ruffino rounded out the GW finishers with a PR time of 22:48.1.
