Women’s Soccer Hosts Davidson for Senior Day on Thursday, Travels to St. Bonaventure on Sunday

WASHINGTON – Entering the final week of the regular season, the George Washington women's soccer team is set to host Davidson on Thursday for Senior Day. Following the midweek-clash with the Wildcats, GW will travel to St. Bonaventure on Sunday to cap-off the season. Both matches will be available to stream on ESPN+.
SENIOR DAY
Prior to the Thursday's match, which has a start time of 3 p.m., the seven graduating members of GW's team will be celebrated for their athletic and academic accomplishments. Players to be honored include Tia Harrison, Lauren Prentice, Margaret Rabbitt, Emma Lillback, Elizabeth Cruz, Caitlin Cunningham and Rose Hemans. Senior Day festivities are tentatively scheduled for 2:50 p.m., with kick-off to follow.
MOVING UP THE RECORD BOOK
During last Sunday's match at George Mason, sophomore Aoi Kataoka recorded her conference-best seventh assist of the season. The mark places her third in the all-time standings for assists in a single season, just three behind the program record. The current record is held by Jolie DePauw who tallied 10 in 1986, and Kataoka's total of seven is the most since Jane Anderson recorded eight in 1997. Kataoka, who has nine assists through two seasons, is also just three away from cracking the program's top 10 for assists in a career.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
Davidson enters Thursday's match with an overall record of 3-10-2 and an 0-6-2 mark in the A-10. The Wildcats have gone winless in their last eight matches, snapping a six-match losing streak with a scoreless draw against Richmond last Sunday. GW is undefeated at 3-0-4 against the Wildcats since they joined the A-10 in 2014 and holds a 3-1-4 mark in the all-time series.
The Wildcats enter the week with seven total goals on the year. Over 50 percent of the team's offense has come from two players, Aleia Gislofi-McReady and Savannah Pruitt. Gislofi-McCready has two goals and one assist on the year, while Pruitt has tallied two goals. Aside from the two multi-goal scorers, Davidson has had three players tally one score each. Riley Patton, Shea Bonacci and SJ Pak have each registered one goal on the year. Defensively, Davidson is anchored by goalkeeper Emily Smith. Smith, who has played every minute for Davidson this season, has 62 saves and boasts a save percentage of 0.765. Smith has faced 145 shots this year and has a goals-allowed average of 1.27.

The Bonnies enter the final week of the regular season with a 3-6-6 overall record and a 2-4-2 mark in the A-10. St. Bonaventure is winless in its last five matches, including a two-game losing streak. Before hosting GW, the Bonnies will travel to Fairfax, Va., to battle George Mason on Thursday evening. The Buff & Blue hold a dominant 17-5-2 edge over the Bonnies in the all-time series, including six-straight wins dating back to 2013.
St. Bonaventure's offense is led by Olivia Allen who has 14 points on the season which is sixth-best in the conference. Allen has five goals and a team-high four assists to lead the Bonnies' offense. Along with Allen, Ami Komori has also been very productive for St. Bonaventure this season. Komori has a team-high six goals which ranks fourth in the A-10. Together, Allen and Komori have combined for 11 of St. Bonaventure's 14 goals this season. Defensively, the Bonnies are led by goalkeeper Chiara Gottinger who has 77 saves on the season. Gottinger has a goals-allowed average of 1.33 and has three shutouts on the year.
