Individual Records Highlight Indoor Tracks' Performance at Patriot Games

First-year Emma Benzinger sets new school record in the indoor 60M dash

FAIRFAX, Va. – A new program record in the 60M dash and six personal best times set the tone for GW women's indoor track's strong Saturday at the Patriot Games, hosted by George Mason.

First-year Emma Benzinger started the day off with an impressive effort in the 60m dash. Benzinger, who made her event debut in the 60m just last week, set a new program record during Saturday's semifinal leg. Benzinger finished in a time of 8.31, which beat Lauren Battle's previous school record by .03 seconds.

In addition to Benzinger, five other GW runners set personal best times over the weekend, including Izzy Doran, Kristen Long, and Rita Mazumder, who all placed in the top-10 of their respective competitions.

Finally, Yukino Parle and Sarah Mitchell made their event debuts in the 1000m. The duo finished second and third, respectively.
