Gymnastics Hits Season-High at North Carolina

GW posts season-high on beam
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Despite finishing second in its dual meet at North Carolina, GW gymnastics posted a season-high 195.350 with event scores of a season-best 48.900 on beam, a 48.975 on vault, a 48.675 on bars and a 48.800 on floor.
Deja Chambliss was named the vault champion with a 9.875. She has now led GW on the event in each of the team's three meets this season. Rachel Katz posted a season-high on vault with a 9.825.
For the second-straight meet, Libby Garfoot placed third overall on bars with a 9.850.
Anneliese Silverman posted a season-high and finished second overall on beam with a 9.825.
Chambliss led GW on floor with a 9.875 and Deana Sheremeta matched her career-high with a 9.850.
ROTATION ONE – BARS (48.675)
GW began the afternoon on bars led by Garfoot's 9.850. Katz added a 9.750, Madi McMullen made her collegiate debut and added a 9.725, Hannah Munnelly added a 9.650 and Anneliese Silverman posted a 9.600.
ROTATION TWO – VAULT (48.975)
GW took to vault for rotation two, led by Chambliss and Katz's season-high. Kendall Whitman added a 9.800, Sarah Zois posted a 9.750, Marlee York added a 9.725 and Munnelly finished the vault lineup with a 9.575.
ROTATION THREE – FLOOR (48.800)
The Buff & Blue moved to floor for its third rotation, led by Chambliss with a 9.875. Sheremeta matched her career-high with a 9.850, Silverman added a 9.775, York posted a 9.700, Zois scored a 9.600 and Payton Lynch finished with a 9.475.
ROTATION FOUR – BEAM (48.900)
GW finished the afternoon with a season-high 48.900 on beam, led by Silverman's season-high. Katz, Sheremeta and Zois added a trio of 9.775s and York posted a 9.750. Chambliss finished the beam rotation with a 9.275.
UP NEXT
GW will prepare for a two-meet week, first visiting Towson on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. dual meet. The Buff & Blue will then travel to Denver for a Sunday quad meet with Pitt and Air Force.
