
Gymnastics Heads to Chapel Hill for Dual Meet with Tar Heels

GW set for first of back-to-back EAGL dual meets
WASHINGTON – The George Washington gymnastics team will visit Chapel Hill, N.C., on Saturday for an EAGL dual meet with North Carolina. March outs from Carmichael Arena are scheduled for 4 p.m., with live coverage of the meet available on ESPN+. Â
LAST TIME OUTÂ
GW placed second in a tri-meet at NC State last Saturday, posting a 195.250 for its second-straight 195.000+ of the young season. Deja Chambliss and Libby Garfoot tied for third overall on bars with matching 9.875s. Deana Sheremeta led GW's floor lineup in just her second collegiate meet, scoring a 9.825. Â
CONSISTENCY ON VAULT
The Buff & Blue are tied for first in EAGL on vault with an average of 49.050 on the event, ranking 19th nationally. Chambliss has led GW on vault in its first two meets and currently leads EAGL with a 9.875 average score after three weeks of action. Chambliss has paced GW on vault in all but one meet dating back to the 2022 season.Â
ABOUT THE TAR HEELS
North Carolina is coming off a season-high performance last weekend, which saw the Tar Heels post a 196.250 and claim the top three spots overall on vault, bars and floor and the top two spots on beam. In addition, Julia Knower earned her second all-around title of the season with a 39.175. Knower is second in EAGL in the all-around.Â
