Fergus Drafted by Phillies in MLB Draft

Center fielder selected by Philadelphia in the 13th round on Wednesday
WASHINGTON - George Washington baseball center fielder Cade Fergus was rewarded for his spectacular career in Buff and Blue on Wednesday with his selection by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 13th round of the MLB Draft.
Fergus is the most recent Colonial to be drafted by the Phillies organization after his former GW teammate, Nate Fassnacht, was picked by Philadelphia in 2019.
Fergus is coming off an impressive senior campaign that saw him named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team for the first time in his career. The Plantation, Fla., native put together a dominant season at the dish, slashing .315/.405/.601 while crushing 13 home runs and compiling 128 total bases. In addition to finishing in the top-10 in homers and total bases, Fergus also ended the year ranked ninth in the A-10 in runs (55) and fourth in doubles (20).
Fergus is now the 24th player in program history to be selected in the MLB Draft.
