Women's Track's Coogan Qualifies for NCAA East Prelims

Graduate student will compete in the 3000m steeplechase
WASHINGTON - George Washington women's track & field graduate student Margaret Coogan has qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary meet in the 3000m steeplechase, the NCAA announced on Thursday.
Coogan's qualification comes on the back of stellar performances during her last two competitions. Two weeks ago, Coogan earned All-Conference recognition when she placed second in the steeplechase at the A-10 Championships, finishing in a time of 10:33.89. Last week, Coogan improved on her time at the Princeton Elite Invitational, placing first in the event with a time of 10:28.13.
This year's NCAA qualification is the second of Coogan's career. She also qualified for the regional meet last year in her top event.
Coogan's event in the East Prelims is scheduled to get underway Saturday at 5:40 p.m. in Bloomington, Ind.
