Colonials take to Cooper River for first event of the Spring
WASHINGTON -Â GW women's rowing is set to embark on its championship season with its first event of the spring on Sunday at the Doc Hosea Invitational. Competition on the Cooper River is set to begin at 7:50Â a.m.
ABOUT DOC HOSEA: Sunday's invitational honors former USRowing National Team Dr. Timothy Hosea, who passed away suddenly in 2015. "Doc" was an invaluable member of the rowing world who took time for all and was ingrained in the fabric of the community.
COACH ROBLES' TAKE:Â "This is a strong group of 18 teams that we'll compete against. We'll see some conference rivals such as UMass and URI. There will be some top teams from some of the top conferences so this is a good way to kick off the season and just lay down some pieces and see where we are. We'll take the semester to fine tune and find some more speed as we head into A-10s."
