Hannah Eslick continued her strong start at the plate, reaching in five of her seven plate appearances in the twin bill with a home run vs. UNCG.
UNCG 7, GW 3:Â The two 2021 NCAA Regional participants combined on an entertaining battle in the second game of the day.Â

Eslick provided an offensive spark vs. UNCG. The graduate student's solo homer off 2021 Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year Morgan Scott tied the game in the third inning, and her walk in the fifth sparked a go-ahead rally with two outs.
After Eslick and Sierra Lange reached, Alexa Williams' clutch hit brought home Eslick, and Lange raced in to score as well when the throw to the plate got away.
UNCG responded right away, tying the game again after back-to-back doubles from Grace Loftin and Tori Dalehite to lead off the frame. The next inning the Spartans plated their four runs on five hits, including a pair of long balls.
Alessandra Ponce was responsible for two of GW's six hits in the second game, including a double to lead off the second inning.
Rider 10, GW 4:Â The Broncs pounded out 10 runs on 19 hits in the opener en route to victory.
Down 8-1 in the sixth, GW edged back within striking distance thanks to a two-run home run from Ponce and an RBI single from Abby Schaub, but Rider escaped further damage and answered back with two more in the bottom of the frame to set the final margin.
Ponce's long ball was her first of the season and the 23rd of her career, while Schaub finished 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
Eslick reached base three times in the opener with a single and two walks.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Buff and Blue pulled a rare feat on defense, turning a triple play. Maddy Dwyer made a shoestring catch in right and then threw to first for another out before Alessandra Ponce threw on to Hannah Eslick at second to force out another Rider runner and end the frame.
