Gymnastics Heads to Towson for Midweek Tri-Meet

GW to face Towson and William & Mary
WASHINGTON – GW gymnastics will visit Towson on Wednesday night for a midweek test vs. the host Tigers and the William & Mary Tribe. March outs from SECU Arena are scheduled for 6 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: The Buff & Blue placed third at Saturday's quad meet with NC State, New Hampshire and William & Mary. GW earned its third consecutive score above the 194.000 mark, bolstered by a season-high 49.025 on vault to cross the 49.000 threshold for the first time in any event this season.
EYES ON EAGL: GW ranks first in the league on vault, averaging a 48.925 across its three completed meets. Sophomore Hannah Munnelly competed for the first time this season on Saturday and earned a career high on vault with a 9.775. Rachel Katz also set a new personal best on the event, scoring a 9.850. In addition, GW's consistency on floor has helped the group to a third-place EAGL ranking, averaging a 48.867, just .100 back of first. Deja Chambliss and Olivia Zona own the top two spots individually on floor, averaging a 9.867 and a 9.833, respectively.
ALL AROUNDER: Chambliss continues to be one of GW's top contributors and won her second all-around title of the season at NC State with a 38.950. Chambliss also placed first overall on vault with a 9.875. The Chesterfield, Va., native is second in EAGL and among the top-50 in the nation with her 39.100 all-around average.
A LOOK AT THE TIGERS: Towson (5-2, 2-2 EAGL) is coming off of a season-best performance at North Carolina on Friday, posting a 195.975 behind three rotation scores of 49.000 or better. The Tigers went head-to-head with North Carolina, with the final rotation scores being the difference-maker in favor of the Tar Heels. Towson is currently ranked No. 39 in the country.
FAMILIAR FOES: Wednesday will mark the third meeting between GW and William & Mary this season. At NC State, the Tribe hit season highs in three events and enter Wednesday averaging a 190.558.
