Womble, Daubendiek Earn All-Conference Recognition

Volleyball duo earn honors as GW’s consistent opposite hitters
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Liv Womble and MC Daubendiek of GW volleyball have been selected to the Atlantic 10's All-Conference Second Team, the A-10 announced on Thursday.
Womble and Daubendiek earned the first All-Conference award for GW since Skylar Iott was named to the second team in 2019.
Womble paced the GW offense and checked in at fourth in the A-10 with 324 kills throughout the regular season, including 16 matches where the junior had a double-figure outing. Womble hit for a career-high .478 hitting percentage with 13 kills in GW's three-set win over NJIT. The Wilmington, N.C., native posted a personal-best 20 kills vs. Duquesne on Sept. 30.
Daubendiek had a breakout sophomore campaign, tallying a career-high 252 kills to finish the regular season third on the team offensively. The Omaha, Neb., native set a career-high with 15 kills in GW's three-set match with Davidson. The sophomore continued to be an offensive threat the following weekend at Rhode Island with back-to-back games where she hit over .500.
The conference honorees will lead the GW volleyball team into the first round of the Atlantic 10 Championship on Friday at Saint Louis. First serve against the Billikens is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST from Chaifetz Pavilion.
