Gymnastics Finishes Third at NC State Quad Meet

Chambliss earns all-around title for second time this season
RALEIGH, N.C. – In its second and final trip to North Carolina this season, GW gymnastics finished third with a team score of 194.675 at the NC State quad meet with New Hampshire and William & Mary on Saturday.
New Hampshire placed first with a 195.400, followed by the host Wolfpack with a 195.250. William & Mary rounded out the four-team field with a 190.650.
GW's 193.675 came behind team scores of a season-high 49.025 on vault, 48.300 on bars, 48.425 on beam and 48.925 on floor.
Deja Chambliss earned her second all-around title of the season on Saturday, scoring a 38.950 with individual event scores of 9.875 on vault, 9.675 on bars, 9.600 on beam and 9.800 on floor. Chambliss also topped the podium on vault for the second time this season.
Rachel Katz set a new personal best on vault with a 9.850, and Anneliese Silverman made her first collegiate appearance on floor, scoring a 9.700. Sarah Zois was integrated into GW's beam lineup after making her collegiate debut on the event last week, posting her second-straight 9.725.
ROTATION ONE
The Buff & Blue began their afternoon on floor, led by Olivia Zona and Payton Lynch's matching 9.825s. Chambliss recorded a 9.800 and Olivia Raymond earned a 9.775. Silverman's event-debut 9.700 placed fifth on the squad and Marlee York wrapped up the floor rotation with a 9.050.
ROTATION TWO
GW took to vault for rotation two, setting a season-high and meet-leading 49.025 on the event. Chambliss led GW with a 9.875 and Katz's personal best placed her second. Hannah Munnelly and Katherine Shek registered a pair of 9.775s and York earned a 9.750 for the third consecutive meet. Zois finished the vault lineup with a 9.725.
ROTATION THREE
GW headed to bars for its third rotation, with Raymond earning a team-best 9.750. Libby Garfoot recorded a 9.700 and Chambliss and Katz tallied a pair of 9.675s. Simone Banen scored a 9.500 and Zona recorded an 8.725.
ROTATION FOUR
GW's final rotation was on beam, led by Banen with a season-high 9.750. Zois followed closely behind with her 9.725, and Shek and Silverman matched with 9.675s. Chambliss received a 9.600 and Zona finished off the beam lineup with an 8.975.

GW will make a midweek visit to Towson on Wednesday, Feb. 2 for a 6 p.m. dual meet with the Tigers. The Buff & Blue will return home on Sunday, Feb. 6, for their annual Pink Meet, hosting LIU, Eastern Michigan and Kent State at 1 p.m. Tickets for Sunday's quad meet are available to purchase here.
