
Baseball Announces 2022 Schedule

The Colonials get underway on February 18
WASHINGTON - GW baseball head coach Gregg Ritchie announced the schedule for the team's 2022 campaign, his 10th season at the helm of his alma mater.
This year's schedule is built with a strong balance of home games, featuring 15 contests taking place at Tucker Field in the first seven weeks, and an additional 13 home games rounding out the final stretch of GW's season, including 12 in A-10 play.
The Colonials begin the year in the warm weather, opening the season with a series against UTRGV (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) beginning on Feb. 18, before traveling to SEC power and 2021 NCAA Regional participant South Carolina for a three-game set to close out the month of February.
The Colonials will play their first game at Tucker Field on March 1, when they welcome the Towson Tigers to town. GW's opener against Towson will begin a stretch of 13 home games in 20 days.
GW will host three non-conference series this season, welcoming Maine (March 4-6), Hofstra (March 11-13) and Niagara (March 18-20) to the Tuck. In addition to their series against UTRGV and South Carolina, GW will also make a non-conference weekend trip to East Tennessee State (March 25 - March 27).
Conference play features four home weekends and four road series, starting April 1st when St. Bonaventure comes to town for a three-game set. Dayton visits the following week (April 8-10), while Rhode Island (April 29-May 1) and UMass (May 19-21) also visit the Tuck. GW will travel to Saint Joseph's (April 15-17), Richmond (April 22-24), VCU (May 6-8) and George Mason (May 13-15).
In mid-week action, the Buff & Blue will participate in home-and-home series with Georgetown (March 29/April 26/May 17), UMBC (March 15/April 19), UMES (March16/March 30) and Towson (March 1/April 5). Additionally, the Colonials will play single games at Virginia (March 8) and home against Coppin State (March 9) and William & Mary (April 12).
The A-10 Championship is scheduled for May 25-28 in the Bronx, NY, hosted by Fordham. The Colonials will be looking to return to the tournament for the first time since the 2018 season.
