Recent graduate joins 13 former Colonials playing professionally
WASHINGTON -Â GW men's basketball alumnus Matt Moyer has inked his first professional deal, signing with the Nürnberg Falcons of the German ProA League. The franchise, located in Nuremburg, is in Germany's second pro division.Â
"I'm dying to get started and enrich the Nürnberg Falcons team in all kinds of ways," Moyer said in the team's release. "Nuremberg is a great city and I'm excited to see what it has to offer."
Moyer had a breakout season in his lone year with GW in 2020-21, nearly averaging a double-double with 10.1 ppg and 9.6 rpg in 12 games. The Gahanna, Ohio, native posted four double-doubles and reached double digits on eight occasions before missing the final five games of the year. He earned his graduate degree in management earlier this year.
Moyer is the latest Colonial to reach the professional ranks, joining recent stars such as Yuta Watanabe, Tyler Cavanaugh and Patricio Garino. Below is a list of all former members of the Buff & Blue still active:
