Lacrosse to Face American in Midweek Matchup

WASHINGTON -Â The GW lacrosse team will face American on Wednesday for a 12 p.m. contest.
LAST TIME OUTÂ
Saturday's game at Old Dominion marked the first win of the season for GW and also marked the first win for the program under the direction of Head Coach Jenny Ulehla.Â
The Buff and Blue posted four goals within the first ten minutes of play and led the rest of the way, topping ODU 16-6. Ten different players scored for GW, led by Amber Germer with four goals, who also picked up four ground balls and caused two turnovers. Maddy O'Brien, Catie Perkins and Sarah Adams chipped in two goals apiece.Â
GW held a 15-9 draw control advantage and finished with a narrow 17-16 edge on ground balls. In net, Megan Patrick made a career-high 19 saves.Â
EYEING THE EAGLESÂ
American will look for its first win of the season on Wednesday following a pair of losses to Mount St. Marys (19-9) and Loyola Maryland (21-4). Emma Vinall leads the Eagles with six goals on the season and teammate Casey Harkins sits in second with four. Harkins recorded a hat trick in the Eagles' most recent loss.Â
