Gymnastics Tops Towson on Senior Day

GW competed at home for the first and only time this season
WASHINGTON -Â The George Washington gymnastics team secured its second consecutive win over Towson on Saturday afternoon, topping the Tigers 195.675 to 195.050.Â

GW earned its 195.675 behind team scores of 48.850 on vault, 48.925 on bars, a season-high 49.000 on beam and 48.900 on floor.

Deja Chambliss earned a 9.875 on vault, putting her in a three-way tie for first overall on the apparatus. Cydney Crasa's 9.825 on floor placed her in a four-way tie for first overall in that event.Â

Rachel Kaplan recorded a career-high 9.850 on bars, earning her second overall there. Kendall Whitman and Katherine Shek registered career-highs on beam earning a 9.825 and a 9.775, respectively.

ROTATION ONE
GW started its afternoon on vault. Chambliss led GW with her 9.875 and Whitman took second with a 9.850. Crasa registered a 9.775 and Anna Warhol earned a 9.750. Hannah Munnelly posted a 9.600 while Shek rounded out the vault lineup with a 9.200.

GW headed to bars for its second rotation led by Kaplan's career-high 9.850 followed by Chambliss' 9.800. Munnelly and Olivia Zona earned matching 9.750s. Olivia Raymond posted a 9.775 while Warhol capped off GW's day on bars with a 9.400.

Hannah Cohen led the Buff and Blue on beam earning a 9.875. Whitman registered a 9.825 while Chambliss and Shek added a pair of 9.775s. Zona (9.750) and Silverman (9.725) finished out the beam lineup.

GW took to floor for its final rotation. Crasa led with a 9.825 while Kaplan, Zona and Payton Lynch added a trio of 9.775s, a career-high for Lynch. Warhol posted a 9.750 and Whitman added a 9.600.

SHINING SENIORS
Following the final results, GW honored its seven seniors who have been a key part of GW gymnastics for the past four years. Over the years, these seniors have helped the program reach two NCAA Regionals, earn a 196.875 program record in 2018 and earn a 49.20 program record on bars in 2020.
