Gymnastics Hits Season High at Temple in First Place Finish

GW posted a 195.700 behind season-highs on all four events
PHILADELPHIA- The George Washington gymnastics team posted a season-high 195.700 in a narrow first-place finish over Towson's 195.550. Temple finished third posting a 194.175. GW led after each rotation before coming down to the final performance to secure the victory.
GW earned its 195.700 behind season-highs on all four events, 48.925 on bars, 48.775 on beam, 49.075 on floor and a 48.925 on vault. GW's 49.075 on floor also marks the first time this season that GW has posted a score above the 49.000 mark.
Junior Deja Chambliss posted a career-high 9.850 on bars and tied her career-high 9.900 on vault. Cydney Crasa posted a pair of season-highs earning a 9.875 on floor and a 9.750 on vault. Kendall Whitman tied her career-high 9.800 on beam.
ROTATION ONE
GW started the night on bars led by Chambliss' career-high 9.850 followed by matching season-high 9.800s from Olivia Raymond and Anna Warhol. Hannah Munnelly tied her season-high with a 9.750 while Olivia Zona followed with a 9.725. Rachel Kaplan rounded out the bars lineup with a 9.375.
ROTATION TWO
GW took to beam for rotation two led by Hannah Cohen's 9.825. Whitman earned a 9.800 followed by fellow rookie, Anneliese Silverman, who scored a 9.775. Katherine Shek tied her career-high 9.700 on beam. Chambliss and Zona finished out the beam lineup posting a 9.675 and a 9.575, respectively.
ROTATION THREE
For its third rotation, GW headed to floor. GW had three gymnasts score at or above the 9.800 mark with Crasa and Zona posting 9.875s and Whitman earning a 9.800. Kaplan earned a 9.775, Warhol registered a 9.750 and Katya Karpova capped off the floor rotation with a 9.150.
ROTATION FOUR
GW finished the night on vault and needed to perform at its best to secure the victory. Chambliss posted a 9.900, Whitman performed her eponymous vault and earned a 9.825 while Shek registered a career-high 9.775. Crasa earned a 9.750 and Munnelly (9.675) and Warhol (9.650) capped off GW's night.

GW will make its return to the Charles E. Smith Center on Sunday for its first and only home meet of the season. Ahead of march-outs, GW will honor its seven seniors: Hannah Cohen, Cydney Crasa, Rachel Kaplan, Katya Karpova, Olivia Norman, Chloe Vitoff and Anna Warhol. First rotation is set for 1 p.m.
