Lacrosse Ready for Pair of Conference Matchups

GW will host No. 12 Richmond on Friday and Davidson on Sunday
WASHINGTON -Â The GW lacrosse team will continue conference play this weekend when it hosts No. 12 Richmond on Friday at 3 p.m. and Davidson on Sunday at 11 a.m.Â
LAST TIME OUTÂ
The Buff and Blue put together a 13-goal second-half effort to defeat George Mason on Saturday, 17-10. The win marked the first time in eight years that GW won against its Revolutionary Rival.
Catie Perkins and Ioanna Mantzouratos led GW with four goals apiece, Alana Greene chipped in three, Katelyn Walker and Sophia Watkinson added two apiece and Amber Germer and Kendall Lambert contributed one goal each.
For the fifth-straight game, GW held the advantage on draw controls, 16-10. Lizzie Heyn managed draw controls in the second half and won eight.Â

Friday's contest will begin conference play for the No. 12 Spiders, who are currently 4-1 overall with wins over Radford, William & Mary, Longwood and Old Dominion. Lindsey Frank leads Richmond with 13 goals. Sam Geiersbach has scored 12 goals for the Spiders and leads the team with 10 assists. Richmond has recorded a season-high 19 goals in three different contests this season.Â

In its last game, Davidson earned a 15-8 upset victory over No. 16 Virginia Tech. Erin Cooke led for the Wildcats netting four goals. Davidson is 5-2 overall and will play George Mason on Friday night before its matchup against the Buff and Blue on Sunday.Â
