Lacrosse Looks for Third Straight Win at Longwood

WASHINGTON -Â The George Washington lacrosse team will make the trip to Farmville, Va. on Saturday for a 4 p.m. game against Longwood.
LAST TIME OUTÂ
GW edged American in a 17-16 victory for its second win of the season. Ioanna Mantzouratos led the Buff and Blue with five goals, firing nine shots on net. Catie Perkins tallied three goals while Phoebe Mullarkey, Sophia Watkinson and Amber Germer chipped in two apiece.Â
GW outshot American 42-30 and held the 18-16 edge on ground balls. GW took full advantage of its free position shots, scoring on six of the 13 allowed.Â
SEASON SO FARÂ
Mantzouratos has scored seven goals in 16 attempts so far this season while Germer has scored six, four of which came in the win at Old Dominion. Keeper Megan Patrick posted a career-high 19 saves in the victory at ODU and stopped 11 shots at American.Â
All four of the first-year players on the attack have scored at least one goal for GW. Mullarkey leads all rookies with three goals.Â

Longwood most recently battled William & Mary in a high-scoring affair last weekend before falling to the Tribe, 22-16.
