
Gymnastics Finishes Third at NC State

GW bests score from season opener
WASHINGTON- The George Washington gymnastics team competed for just its second time this season Friday night and finished third in quad-meet action at NC State with a score of 193.600.
GW bested its score from last week by a margin of 0.650.
No. 4 Oklahoma topped the field with a 197.475, finishing ahead of the host Wolfpack (No. 26) who posted a 196.075. In its first meet of the season, William & Mary rounded out the field with a 189.400.
GW earned its 193.600 behind team scores of 48.700 on bars, 48.600 on floor, 48.575 on vault and 47.725 on beam.
ROTATION ONE
GW started the night on the uneven bars and posted its best score of the night. Junior Deja Chambliss led the way for the Buff and Blue with a 9.800. Anneliese Silverman and Hannah Munnelly earned matching scores of 9.750s. Anna Warhol and Olivia Zona both registered 9.700s while Olivia Raymond earned a 9.650.
ROTATION TWO
GW moved to beam for the second rotation. Hannah Cohen (9.750) and Katherine Shek (9.700) both scored above the 9.700 mark. Silverman surpassed her score from last week by earning a 9.600. Kendall Whitman (9.550), Katya Karpova (9.125) and Zona (8.900) wrapped up the beam lineup.
ROTATION THREE
GW took to floor for rotation three. Zona took the top spot on the team rankings posting a 9.800. Cydney Crasa earned a 9.750 while Warhol followed close behind with a 9.725. Whitman added a 9.675. In her sole event for the night, Rachel Kaplan earned a 9.650. First-year Payton Lynch made her Buff and Blue debut on floor, rounding out the lineup with a 9.050.
ROTATION FOUR
GW finished the night on vault. Whitman, Warhol, Munnelly and Shek all earned 9.750s. Nora Houseman posted a 9.575 while Olivia Norman made her season debut, wrapping up the night with a 9.200.

GW's next meet is at Temple on March 5. First rotation is set for 7 p.m.
