Maxine Engel Takes Home A-10 Rookie of the Week Honors

First-year scores first career points in first career minutes against Lehigh
WASHINGTON - GW women's basketball first-year Maxine Engel has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday.
The Memphis, Tenn. native saw the first minutes of her young career in GW's last game against Lehigh, registering eight points on four shots, while also bringing in a rebound and registering a block.
Engel becomes the first Colonial this season to take home an A-10 weekly award, and is the first Colonial first-year to take home Rookie of the Week honors since teammate Aurea Gingras and Ali Brigham took home the honors last year.
GW will return to action tomorrow to face off with West Chester at 4 p.m. from the Smith Center
