
Gymnastics Finishes Third at New Hampshire

Crasa takes third on floor with 9.850
WASHINGTON – The George Washington gymnastics team continued their three-meet road swing on Saturday evening, finishing third in quad-meet action at New Hampshire with a score of 192.900.
The host Wildcats topped the field with a season-high 195.850, finishing ahead of No. 26 West Virginia (195.075). Brown rounded out the field with a 191.400.
The Colonials earned their 192.900 behind team scores of 48.700 on vault, 47.875 on bars, 48.325 on beam and 48.000 on floor.
ROTATION ONE
The Colonials competed on uneven bars to start their night, finishing with a score of 47.875. Simone Banen led the way with a 9.750, while fellow sophomores Olivia Raymond and Deja Chambliss earned matching scores of 9.675. First-year Hannah Munnelly followed closely behind with a 9.650 and Rachel Kaplan added a 9.125 in her 2020 uneven bars debut.
ROTATION TWO
GW moved to beam for the second rotation, posting a 48.325. For the third straight meet, junior Hannah Cohen paced the squad on beam, finishing with a 9.775. Cydney Crasa and Raymond earned identical 9.650s while Banen and Olivia Zona posted 9.625 to wrap up the beam lineup.
ROTATION THREE
The Buff and Blue took to floor for rotation three, scoring a 48.000. Crasa topped the team with a 9.850, her fourth score above a 9.800 on floor this season. Her 9.850 was also good for third on the night. Anna Warhol followed closely behind with a season-high 9.775, while Zona posted a 9.750. Kaplan added a 9.600 and Banen finished with a 9.025 to give the Colonials their 48.000.
ROTATION FOUR
GW had their best event of the night on vault, finishing with a score of 48.700. Crasa paced the Colonials on her second straight event with a 9.775 while first year Katherine Shek earned a 9.750 in her vault debut. Chambliss also scored a 9.750 while Olivia Norman posted a 9.725. Munnelly capped the Colonials' night on vault with a 9.770.
UP NEXT
GW will make its second and final trip out West when it visits the University of Denver for a dual meet on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. The Pioneers broke into the top-four last season, finishing 2019 ranked fourth in the country (197.545 RQS). This year, Denver ranks fourth in the country with a 196.940 average and 197.575 high.
