Men’s Basketball Releases Additional Non-Conference Games
12/3/2020 12:38:00 PM | Men's Basketball
GW men's basketball today unveiled its remaining 2020-21 non-conference slate, replete with a series of rematches from last year's campaign.
GW will host Coppin St. on Saturday at the Smith Center at 2 p.m., before taking its show to Maryland for a rematch at Towson two days later looking for a bit of revenge after the Colonials opened the Christian Era with a loss there last season. In that game, Jameer Nelson Jr. became the only first-year in the nation last season to lead his team in points, rebounds and assists in his debut.
A date with Delaware is next, on the road against the Blue Hens on Dec. 11. Last year, Delaware came to Foggy Bottom undefeated and left with its first loss of the year.
South Carolina pays a visit to DC on Monday, Dec. 14 for a nationally-televised tilt on CBSSN at 7 p.m. GW will look to avenge last year's loss in Columbia; a game in which Jamison Battle introduced himself to the college basketball world with six 3-pointers.
The Buff and Blue wrap the non-conference slate with an afternoon matinee on Dec. 22 against former A-10 foe Charlotte at 2 p.m. The series history with Charlotte includes an all-time thriller that GW fans will never forget to clinch an undefeated A-10 season in 2005-06.
Coupled with the 18-game A-10 docket, GW is scheduled for 25 games before the A-10 Championship in March.
