WASHINGTON - Highly touted point guard and DMV product Brayon Freeman signed an NLI today to become the headlining act in GW men's basketball Head Coach Jamion Christian's second recruiting class.
A 6-foot-2 lead guard who competes for National Christian Academy, New World and Team Loaded and formerly played at Huntington Prep and Bishop O'Connell, Freeman chose GW over a bevy of other others, including multiple offers from schools in the SEC and Big 12 and top A-10 competition.
Ranked in the top 30 of his graduating class at the point guard position, Freeman was identified as a difference maker early in his scholastic days. Coach Christian began recruiting the playmaker dating back to his time spent at Mount St. Mary's and was the first to offer Freeman a scholarship.
"Brayon has a level of confidence that is infectious and he'll provide an extra boost of energy to our program from the minute he steps on campus," Christian said. "He will pair well with our other guards to give us as dynamic of a backcourt as anybody in our conference, with an ability to control the game on both ends of the floor. We take pride in keeping the very best players in D.C. right here at home. With Brayon, we were able to do exactly that. We coach and live in the best basketball area in the world and players like Brayon ensure that we will have the ability to continue making strides to being one of the best in the A-10."
