The 54-hole tournament starts on Monday
TEEING OFF: The GW golf team opens its fall slate on Monday when it tees off in the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational at Guyan Golf & Country Club in Huntington, West Virginia.
Â
WHO'S BACK: GW returns four of five starters from last season's squad that finished third at the Atlantic 10 Championship. Senior Adrian Castagnola is coming off an impressive junior campaign in which he recorded two top-10s and had a 73.93 scoring average. He nearly won individual medalist honors at the A-10 Championship, shooting a 67 in the final round and finishing just one shot back of teammate Logan Lowe.
Â
Sophomores Luis Alfonso Preciado and Logan Othmer gained experience as starters throughout their first year in Foggy Bottom, finishing third and fourth on the team in scoring average. Preciado also matched Lowe with the lowest round of the year by a Colonial when he shot a 5-under 66 in the second round of last year's Marshall Invitational.
Â
A trio of upperclassmen in senior Yoo Jin Kim and juniors Clifford Thompson and Stephen Brown also return.
Â
FRESH FACES: A pair of accomplished international players join the roster this season in Jakub Hrinda (Slovakia) and Hugo Riboud (France).
Â
A member of the Slovakia National Team who went to high school in Qatar, Hrinda has experience playing across the globe. The left-hander qualified for a European Tour event in Qatar at the age of 14, recorded wins in the Faldo Series in the Middle East, Slovakia and Italy, and won the 2018 Turkish Amateur Open Championship.
Â
Riboud's resumé is no less impressive. He also is a member of his national team and won the 2018 French U18 National Championship with a 16-under par 272, including a course record 63 in the first round. Riboud's playing history also includes competitions in Belgium, Ireland and the United States.
Â
GW LINEUP: Thompson, Hrinda, Riboud, Preciado and Castagnola will represent GW while Othmer and Kim will play as individuals. Live scoring will be available via BirdieFire.com.Â
