Wilson, Perrone set to join Colonials
WASHINGTON – GW softball has bolstered its roster with the addition of first-years Daniella Wilson and Valentina Perrone for the 2020 season, head coach Shane Winkler announced Friday.
Wilson, an infielder from Indian Land, S.C., and Perrone, a catcher out of San Diego, Calif., will join previously announced newcomers Maggie Greco (Utility/Bolingbrook, Ill.), Paris Orchard (Outfielder/Walla Walla, Wash.) and Darbie Stancil (Utility/Temecula, Calif.) with the Colonials, who are looking to build on a historic spring in which they won a program-record 44 games and a share of their first Atlantic 10 title.
"I'm excited to add Dani and Valentina to our incoming class," Winkler said. "Both of them can play multiple positions and will be threats at the plate. We had great offensive numbers last year, and we just got even stronger.
"With this class, we're adding a strong group of student-athletes that will make an impact immediately and help us compete for championships this year and beyond."
