Colonials to host two-day camps in July
WASHINGTON - George Washington softball is set to host a pair of summer camps on the Mount Vernon Campus.
Fresh off guiding the Colonials to a share of their first Atlantic 10 title, head coach Shane Winkler and his staff will lead a pair of comprehensive two-day camps next month for players in grades 8-12. The first runs July 16-17 with the second set for July 23-24.
The camps - which run 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - will cover the full range of softball skills with time each day devoted to offense and defense before wrapping up with game play. The cost is $150 per day or $250 for both days.
In addition, the GW staff is hosting a series of weekly pitching and hitting clinics on Tuesday evenings throughout the month of June. The sessions begin at 7:30 p.m. on June 6, 11, 18 and 25.
