NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The George Washington lacrosse team garnered a pair of Atlantic 10 postseason honors, the league announced on Wednesday. First-year Tori Hampton was named to the All-Rookie Team while junior Katie Quinn landed on the All-Academic Team.
Â
Hampton earns All-Rookie Team honors after a standout first-year campaign where she racked up a team-high tying 30 goals and totaled 38 points, good for second on the squad. As the only first-year on the team to start all 17 contests, Hampton made an immediate impact in her first season in the Buff and Blue and averaged 4.12 shots per game and 3.41 shots on goal. The Marlton, New Jersey native was held scoreless in just four of the Colonials' 17 games and wrapped up the season on a seven-game goal streak, tallying 16 goals in that span.
Â
Quinn grabs her second Atlantic 10 postseason honor after capping her junior season on a high note both on and off the field. The Villanova, Pennsylvania native led the team with 40 points (30g, 10a) and registered multiple goals in nine of 17 contests, including four hat tricks. After being held scoreless in the squad's two opening games of 2019, Quinn went on to tally at least one goal in each of GW's remaining 15 contests. Off the field, the business analytics major excelled in the classroom with a 3.63 GPA.Â
